Myrna Bennett Loomis

Myrna L. (Bennett) Loomis, 94, formerly of Franklin and Mansfield, widow of Frederick L. Loomis, died Saturday June 7, 2003 at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 7, 1909 in Munson, MA. the daughter of Irwin and Carrie (Hancock) Bennett. She had been employed for over 20 years in Dining Services at UConn and was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Mansfield Center. She was a caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by a daughter Caroline Loomis Shaney of N. Windham, a sister Ruth Bennett Washburn of MA., 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 children; Richard Loomis, Larry Loomis and Jean M. Constant. There will be no calling hours. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with burial following in the Pink Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 238 W. Town St., Norwich, Ct. 06360.
