Molly Kochenburger Obituary
Molly Lenhart Kochenburger departed this earthly life unexpectedly on Friday, April 1, 2022, at the age of 30 years old. Molly was born on January 16, 1992, in Bloomfield and raised in Mansfield and Willimantic. She graduated from Windham High School and Quinebaug Valley Community College.
Molly is survived by her mother, Avery Lenhart; father Steven Kochenburger; sisters, Nell Kolbier and Melissa Torres; her fiancé, Roberto Gonzalez, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be missed by her friends and family, and especially by her hound dog Lucy.
Molly’s life was highlighted by trips to Cape Cod with her grandparents, Mark and Sara Lenhart, a recent visit to Puerto Rico with her fiancé’s family, and a monthlong cross country camping trip with her mother and sister where she visited several national parks.
Molly had a positive impact on the lives of many others, most recently through her work at Windham Region Community Council, where she was a housing case manager for people who had formerly experienced homelessness. Prior to that, she worked with victims of traumatic brain injury. Molly was extraordinarily generous, loved to help other people, and strived to advocate for those less fortunate.
Molly was talented in needlework and made beautiful, cross-stitched pictures. She also enjoyed geo-caching, was a black belt in karate, and was learning krav maga.
Molly’s family is very grateful to the anonymous members of the recovery community who provided fellowship, love, and support throughout her journey.
A celebration of Molly’s life will be held at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic at 1:30pm on May 7, 2022. The family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the CT Alliance to End Sexual Violence, Windham Region No Freeze Project, Inc. or the recovery program of your choice.
