Modesta Alvarez

Modesta Alvarez, 95, of Willimantic, died Saturday, December 15, 2012. She was born March 9, 1917 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and had lived in Willimantic for the past 49 years. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She is survived by six children, Eligio Alvarez, Cef Alvarez, Carmen Lidia Quintana, Dolores Alvarez, Yvette Alvarez and Jackeline Rosario, 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great granchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Florito Alvares and two daughters, Aurea Alvarez and Maria Alvarez and three great grandchildren. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Iglesia Sagrado Corazon, 61 Club Rd. Windham, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
