Mitre S. Ristich

Mitre S. Ristich, 85, of Ashford, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 in Mansfield, with his family by his side. He was born June 29, 1924 in Yugoslavia, now Macedonia, and came to the United States in 1958 and has lived in Connecticut since then. Prior to his retirement he was employed for 28 years at the former American Thread Company in Willimantic. He was a very religious man who loved his family and friends and felt blessed to live the life he lived. He was a loving father to two daughters, Luba Knowles and her husband John of Ashford, Vasy M. Ristich, also of Ashford and two grandchildren, Charles M. Knowles and Megan E. Knowles. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
