Mitchell Kalisiak, 88, of Willimantic, died Wednesday March 23, 2011 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the son of the late Antoni and Bridget (Brzezinska) Kalisiak. Mitchell was a graduate of Windham High School and then graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1950. He served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and UCONN fan. Mitchell's work took him all over the world. He was always there for his family. He is survived by a sister Helen Piner, of Mansfield, CT and a brother Leon Kalisiak, of Reno, NV, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters Janina Pelechatz, Catherine Legler, and Irene O'Connor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. There will be a gathering at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, on Tuesday March 29th from 10:00am to 10:30am with his Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic.
