Milton "Bill" E. Underwood

Milton "Bill" E. Underwood, 82, of Columbia, husband of Marie (Maheu) Underwood, died Sunday January 23, 2011 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born July 3, 1928 in Willimantic and had resided in Columbia for many years. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and had been employed by Brand-Rex in Willimantic for many years prior to retirement. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Allen E. Underwood of Columbia, a daughter Brenda L. Chilcott and her husband David of Sheridan, WY, a sister Elaine Underwood of Carmichael, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Royal, Stanley and Louis and a sister Mary Underwood. His funeral service will be held at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Monday May 9th at 11:00am. His family will receive relatives and friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Eastern Ct. for their exceptional care.
