Michael W. Jones, 69, of Storrs, CT passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, surrounded by his family at Windham Hospital. He was the son of the late Richard and Mary Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan, Sons: Brian (Heidi) and Chris (Carissa), his grandson Sammy, and his grand dogs Bailey, Tucker, and Cabela. He also leaves behind his brother Kenny (Beth) and sister Lori (Barry), his sisters -in-law Julie (Stephen) and Lisa (Jeff) and many friends as well as nieces and nephews.

Mike was most recently employed for many years by Jensen’s/Sun Community and will be fondly remembered by his coworkers and the residents of the community. He was previously employed by his father-in-law Roger Perfetto at Perfetto Electric.

He was a regular at the Stafford Speedway, both for Friday night races and Monday night go-karts which he and Sammy attended together.

Mike was a life member of the Eagleville Fire Department, having joined in 1973. He was also an incredible woodworker who built many beautiful things for his family.

Donations in Mike’s memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Michael’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00pm.
