Michael P. Edwards, 49, of Coventry, husband of Deborah (Brown) Edwards, died Friday June 2, 2006 at their home. He was born April 30, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of John and Patricia (Stadelman) Edwards Jr. and had lived in Columbia before moving to Coventry 5 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1975 to 1978 as a tank mechanic. Since 1985, Michael has been employed as a letter carrier for the Manchester Post Office. He enjoyed taking pleasure rides on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and also making candles to give away to his many friends. Michael enjoyed nature and loved all animals, both wild and domestic. In addition to his wife he is survived by his stepdaughter Amy (Deptula) Stygar of Columbia, who he raised and his granddaughter, Jayden Stygar, both of whom were the light of his life and whom he loved to spend time with. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Anthony of Old Saybrook, his niece Coral Dawn Anthony, an aunt in Arizona and several cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 9, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the Baptist Fellowship, 195 Rte. 6 Columbia. There are no calling hours.
