Michael Richard Chebro

Michael R. Chebro, 78, of South Windham, CT beloved husband of Muriel (Roy) Chebro, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his son?s home in Ashford surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on May 19, 1938 to the late Michael and Carolyn Chebro and grew up in Ashford. For many years, Michael worked as a substitute rural route mail carrier while working for and eventually retiring from the State of Connecticut Corrections Department, Enfield CT with the rank of Captain. He enjoyed spending time with Muriel at their winter home in Mesa, Arizona, their many trips to Canada and helping out at the family farm, Chebro?s Pumpkin Hill Berry Farm. He made a fine strawberry daiquiri. Michael also loved golfing, bowling, the casinos and sports of all kinds. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Michael Chebro and his wife Jeannie of Woodstock, CT, his daughter Melanie Chebro and her partner Joseph Uhouse of Willington CT, his son Brian Chebro and his wife Rebecca, his two beloved grandchildren, Ashlyn and Alexa Chebro of Ashford, CT and his stepson Richard Gagne of Hampton and step grandchildren, Richard and Heather Gagne. Michael also leaves behind his sister Carolyn Makray of Ashford, his sister Jacqueline Bradley and husband Barry of Willington, his sister Joan Celotti and husband George of Ashford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
