IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melvin J.
Jones, Sr.
October 18, 1933 – January 29, 2026
Melvin Jones Sr. was born on October 18, 1933, in Amherst, New York. He passed away at home on January 29, 2026, at the age of 92. Mel joined the Army in 1952 and was stationed in Germany until 1954. Mel leaves behind his wife, Patricia of 33 years of marriage, and his eight children and grandchildren from a previous marriage. He was employed at the Windham Public School system for 16 years as a painter. He was presented with a beautiful plaque for his recognition for his years of selfless service. After retirement he volunteered at the McSweeney Senior Center, Meals on Wheels and many other causes. Mel had a green thumb, he was the king of the BBQ grill, a builder of model ships and painting, and a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox! He was always going, always doing, That’s Melvin Jones Sr. in a nutshell. The world is a sadder place without Mel in our lives. But Mel touched each of us with memories we will always remember.
