Melvin A. Jones

Melvin A. Jones, 83, of Lebanon, died Sunday, November 14, 2010 in Windham. He was born December 28, 1926 in Hardwick, VT and had lived in Mansfield for many years before moving to Lebanon. Melvin was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and prior to his retirement was employed as a dairy farmer in Mansfield for many years. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Marvin and Tammy Jones of Canterbury, Michael and Jennifer Jones of Chaplin, Margo Jones, also of Chaplin and Lisa Jones of Lebanon, his partner of 15 years, Audrey Green and her children and their spouses, Lu-Ann and Ernie Brown of Lebanon, Newton and Carolyn Green of Storrs, Wendy and Robin Knight of Willington, Wanda St. Onge of Florida, Victor Green of Coventry and Shawn and Trudy Green, also of Coventry, two sisters, Madeline Hooper and Phyllis Despault, both of Morrisville, VT, 27 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers. His family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the spring in Vermont.
