Melissa Ann (Grant) Caya, 41, of Pudding Hill Rd., Hampton, wife of Craig M. Caya, died unexpectedly Monday July 28, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1961 in Willimantic the daughter of William D. and Elaine (Hopkins) Grant of Windham. She had been employed by J.C. Penny at the East Brook Mall for 17 years prior to her employment at Big Y in Mansfield in floral sales and as a cashier. Melissa was very active with the Friends of the Library at the Fletcher Memorial Library in Hampton. She was also active in the fund raising efforts of the Hampton Fire Co. Melissa enjoyed art, especially pen and ink work and watercolor painting. She was an avid baker and enjoyed gardening and genealogy . She and Craig enjoyed their dogs and raising pet goats. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a brother William E. Grant of Marlborough, 2 nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Hampton Congregational Church, Main St. (Rte. 97) Hampton . Burial will follow in the South Cemetery, Hampton. In lieu of flowers, her family has suggested memorial donations to the Friends of the Library Fund c/o Fletcher Memorial Library, 257 Main St. Hampton, Ct. 06247 or to the Hampton Fire Co., P.O.
