Max K. Schamko, 87, of Ashford, died Tuesday Aug. 10, 2004 at home. He was born Jan. 1, 1917 in the Ukraine and immigrated to the United States in 1950. He had served in the Russian Army and had resided in Ashford for the last 12 years. He is survived by his son Rev. Eugene Schamko and his wife Ingrid of Woodstock, his daughter Lillian Schamko of Clarkston, WA., his former wife Elsa Schamko of Florida, a brother in Russia, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00am in the Tabernacle of the Evangelical Baptist Camp, 574 Ashford Center Rd. (Rte. 44) Ashford. Burial will follow in the Woodward Cemetery.
