Maurice W. Elliott, of Mansfield, CT died peacefully on December 17, 2015. Moe was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He lived a long and happy life with his wife Katherine, who predeceased him on February 1, 2014. Moe enjoyed a simple life. He loved his family and the home that he built together with his wife. He was an avid swimmer and spent many hours in his beloved swimming pool where he taught his son and granddaughter to swim before they could walk. He also loved playing music with Randy. Moe was a Marine and received the "Navy and Marine Corps Medal of Honor" for heroism from President Truman for saving the life of a fellow Marine who had fallen overboard during a treacherous storm at sea during WWII. He is survived by his son and wife, Randy and Jill Elliott, granddaughter and husband Ashley and Patrick Foley, two great-grandchildren Anniston Grace and Luke Joseph Foley. He also leaves behind his brother Raymond Elliott and two sisters Rita Elliott, Vivian Forkey, many nieces and nephews as well as his extended family Edward and Judith Shay, Jeffrey, Jessica and Emmylou Shay, Eric Shay, and his personal caretaker Aleksander Szmit. He will be forever grateful to his beloved granddaughter Ashley for sharing her great love for family and life. He also had a special place in his heart for his daughter-in-law Jill and brother Ray. Moe will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his son who was his best friend.
