Matthew Todd O’Rourke, 53, of Willimantic, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2022. He was born March 4, 1969 in Manchester, CT, the son of Martin and Marjorie (Bunce) O’Rourke. Matt’s love of movies led to his decision to work as an usher at Jillson Square Cinemas. He loved watching the newest movies as they came out in theaters. He was also an avid fan of UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball, Boston Red Sox, and the NFL. Matt’s dream was to go to NYC to become a movie director. He is survived by his parents, Martin and Marjorie O’Rourke of Storrs; his brother, Martin O’Rourke and his wife Lisa of Columbia; and his niece, Taylor O’Rourke of Columbia. There are no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Willimantic, 667 Main St. Willimantic, CT. Matt, we will always love you, till we meet again on that beautiful shore…RIP. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National Alliance on Mental Illness of Connecticut, 1030 New Britain Ave. Suite 201, West Hartford, CT 06110.
