Marye Rosyar Navratil, 91, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away July 2, 2012 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Marye was born June 24, 1921 in Eastford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Mary Swantner Rosyar and Gustave John Rosyar. Marye was one of six children. Family members pre-deceased are two sisters, Jennie Ference, Helen Ference both of Ashford, CT, and one brother John Rosyar of Willimantic, CT. She is survived by one son, Ronald Navratil of Orlando, FL, and two daughters , Joyce Navratil Sharp of Willington, CT and April Navratil Martin of Chattanooga, TN; a sister, Gizella St. King of Eastford, CT and a brother, Gus Rosyar of Ashford, CT; six grandchildren, Garnet Walker of Orlando, FL, Amy Caffall of Huntsville, AL, Thomas Sharp and Dustin Sharp of Kissimmee, FL, Ryan Martin of Clemmons, NC, and Chris Martin of Atlanta, GA; four great grandchildren, Caden and Christian Walker of Orlando, and Jack and Ty Caffall of Huntsville, AL. Marye grew up in Eastford, CT where she graduated from Woodstock Academy. While living in Connecticut, she worked at the UConn Dairy Bar and as a secretary at the University of Connecticut. Marye also lived in Miami, Florida where she worked as a secretary for the Miami Dade County School System. She retired in 1987 after 27 years. After retirement, Marye moved to Hollywood, Florida where she lived for 25 years before moving to Orlando, Florida to be close to her children and grandchildren. Marye loved to travel and traveled all over the world throughout her life. She loved all varieties of flowers, her favorite being african violets and orchids. Everyone who knew Marye, knew of her love for the color purple. Her funeral service will be Saturday, July 7th at 2:30pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.
