Mary Tallman Obituary
Mary Ethel (Reil) Tallman, of Ramstein, Germany, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2021. She was born in Willimantic, CT to the late Arthur and Ethel Reil on May 7, 1928. She married Charles William Tallman on July 1, 1950 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage prior to his death in 2007.

Mary graduated from Windham High School, Class of 1947, in Willimantic, CT.  From 1959 through 2003, she and her family lived in Canterbury, CT where Mary was a founding member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and a Girl Scout leader for many years.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She is survived by two children, Charles Arthur Tallman (Linda) of Marshall, VA and Beth Ann Kelley (James) of Ramstein, Germany where Mary lived for the past 8 years; a daughter-in-law Linda Tallman (Gary); four grandchildren, Kristi Hartman, Jennifer Carino, Shawn Kelley and Brian Kelley; and five great grandchildren, Elena Carino, Rosie Carino, Coltrane Tallman, Clayton Tallman, and Wyatt English. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Gary Ernest Tallman and Cheryl Lynn Foust and a grandchild Corey Tallman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions may be made to any organization supporting research into Alzheimer’s and/or Dementia. The last 10+ years of her life were severely impacted by these conditions.

Interment will be at the New Willimantic Cemetery in Willimantic, CT on Saturday, May 21, 2002 at 11:00am.  She will be laid to rest beside Charlie, and her parents in Willimantic, CT
