Mary Carroll Obituary
Mary S. Carroll, fondly known as “Sarah” to family and friends, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2020. She had been under hospice care for a brief time before slipping from her earthly bonds. All who knew her were touched by her gentle disposition and sincere caring nature. She bore a mighty determination and was single-minded in all matters regarding family and close friends. Sarah always spoke her mind and would not be led astray by logical argument. A completely authentic human being who had the natural skill to see the simplicities of life.
Sarah is sorely missed by her immediate family: Michael, husband of 47 years, Jonathan, their beloved son, Elyse, Jonathan's wife, Vayda, her granddaughter and Frank Porteus, her brother.
Additionally, cousins Nancy and Michael survive her.
Sarah had a large group of friends on the west coast where she used to travel frequently to support a local church doing volunteer work when she was in better health.
As much as she is missed, we all feel blessed to have had our lives enriched and brightened by her ability to shine a light on the best parts of human nature. God bless you and keep you sweet Sarah.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Windham Hospital in tribute to the fine staff that took good care of Sarah.
