Mary (Dolly) H. Oliver, 78, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Oliver. Mrs. Oliver was born in Manchester, NH on May 24, 1937. She resided in Lebanon, CT before moving to Stafford Springs in 1973 until present. Dolly worked as a revenue agent for the IRS for approximately 38 years before retiring at 65. She was very active in the Assembly of God Church/ Christian Life Assembly, participating in Women's Ministries for 15 years and also the Missionettes for 25 years. Dolly enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. She loved to bake as well. She is pre-deceased by her brothers Gerald and Edward Hamel, and sisters Corrine Reimer and Elaine Huey. Dolly is survived by her son, Michael Martin and daughter-in-law Frankie (Barnes) Martin. Grandchildren include Asia Barnes and Nicholas Martin of Braintree, MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., Christian Life Assembly of God, 143 Windham Rd., Willimantic, CT, with Reception to follow.
