Mary Libbe (Spector) Mangano passed away peacefully on May 23, 2016 at the age of 83. Mary is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Nathan Spector and Mary (Crawford) Spector and her two siblings, Sally Hammerberg and Barney Spector. Mary is survived by two siblings, John Spector and his wife Linda and Naomi Antonakos; including nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her son Eddie Prague and her daughter Libbe Prague. Mary is survived by her four children, Maxwell Prague, Benjamin Prague, Jay Ellen Prague and Gina Mangano. She has two beautiful grandchildren, Claire Charbonneau and Samuel Prague. Mary was known for her poise and grace as a ballerina and studied under Maximilian Froman. She carried her love of the arts to her children and grandchildren. Mary was a humanitarian and worked tirelessly at Windham Community Memorial Hospital covering a span of 35 years. Mary was an advocate for children and mentored several children into adulthood in her life time. Upon retiring from WCMH she was a ?grandmother? in preschool classrooms and maintained a steadfast empathy toward the children she cared for. In addition to this, Mary was part of the grandmother club at Gan Aden; carrying on her advocacy on behalf of children. Mary had a love of gardening and was often accompanied in this passion with her daughter Jay Ellen. She shared her passion for nature with her son Benjamin who is an avid photographer and whose art work adorned her walls. Her son Maxwell was a world traveler in his youth and inspired Mary to travel to China; her biggest adventure. Maxwell?s son, Sam provided her with the delight only the young can give. Mary created a home that was inviting and warm; she passed the trait of ?shabby chic? to her daughter Gina, who emulated her creativity. Her granddaughter Claire, who bears the uncanny resemblance of Mary and Libbe, is her first born grandchild. Mary often said Claire was the reason she got up in the morning. Claire is a gymnast, a singer and an actress; all Spector attributes. Mary was adored and loved by her family. She brought joy and happiness and a fierce determination to all that she pursued in life. She is a legacy to her family.
