Martial M. Ouimette

Martial M. Ouimette, 72, of North Windham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2011. He was born on Oct. 9, 1938 in Coaticook, Canada, a son of the late Arthur and Medora (Fontaine) Ouimette. Martial is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Edith (Ivan) Ouimette, two sons, Patrick and his wife Sharon of Mansfield, and Jacques and his wife Marie of Willington; three grandchildren, Patrick Jr., Eric and Jacques Jr.; three brothers, Lucien of Canada, Rachel and his wife Therese of Willimantic and Albert of Mansfield; four sisters, Marie Jeanne Bissonette and her husband Arthur of Canada, Lucille Lafond and her husband Roger of NH, Ceclie Roy of Canada, Solange Gagnon and her husband Adrian of VT. He is also survived by sisters in law, Antoinette Ouimette, Carol Ouimette and Cherol Ouimette. He was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard, Laurent and twin Andre, a sister Georgette Dubreuil and a sister in law Laurie Ouimette. Martial, having been in construction and building all of his life, was a very talented man in many trades. In his retirement he drove a bus for the handicapped for many years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday Jan. 10th between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, prior to his 11:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Memorial donations are suggested to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
