Mark D. Roarabaugh Jr

October 27, 1982 — February 16, 2008

Mark D. Roarabaugh, Jr., age 25, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, February 16, 2008 from complications brought on by a brain injury he sustained on December 11, 2003. Mark D. and Susan M. (Ives) Roarabaugh were blessed with him, their first child, on October 27, 1982. He grew up in the Windham area, moving to North Windham in 1991. He attended North Windham Elementary, Kramer and Windham Middle Schools graduating from Windham Tech in 2001 where his chosen vocation was electronics. During his middle and high school years, he became an accomplished wrestler, a sport he loved very much. Prior to his accident, he had worked in the electronics field and as a rough carpenter. Besides his parents, he is survived by his brother, Eric I. Roarabaugh, his maternal grandparents Milton and Carol Ives of North Windham, CT and Stella Cruz of Bay Harbor Islands, FL; paternal grandparents, John and Doris Roarabaugh of Hanover, CT and Joan Drew of Norwich, CT; maternal great-grandparents Clara Allen of Inverness, FL, George Navas of West Palm Beach, FL and Jean Anspach of Hollidaysburg, PA. Aunts, uncles and cousins include Milton and Maureen Ives and children of Bolton, CT, Greg and Melissa Cowen and children of Willington, CT, John, Jeffrey and Susan Leon and children of Carthage, IL, Nick Leon of Willimantic, CT, Lisa Leon of Allentown, PA, Lucinda Giverdon and children of Norwich, CT, Laura and Keith Gray and children of Lisbon, CT, Francis Hogaboom and children of Celina, OH , Paul Hogaboom of Willimantic, CT, Brian Hogaboom of Hanover, CT, and Carol and Gary Dziekan and children of Baltic, CT. The family thanks the following individuals for their love, nurturing and devotion to our beloved son - Caregivers Mark Mumley, Audra Sullivan, Daniel Melvin, Melissa Paradis, Marylyn Rizza, Heather Hawes, Shannon Barbero, Linda Ross and James Mattasa who have become a part of our family. His primary physician, Dr. Ross Winakor of Mansfield Family Practice, nurse Debbie Glover of VNA East and Steve Moran and the staff of Crossroads Physical Therapy who have provided the highest level of care and support for Mark and his family. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Saturday March 1, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following.
