Mark Van Norman Loter

March 6, 1959 — March 7, 2015

Mark V. Loter, 56, of Mansfield Center, CT passed away unexpectedly in his home on March 7, 2015. Born March 6, 1959 in Mason, NH to Ray V. and Judith (Martin) Loter. Shortly after birth he moved to Fitchburg MA where he grew up. Fitchburg is where Mark stayed until 2012 when he moved to Eastern Connecticut with his love, Lori Redding, to be near their grandchildren. Mark was a gentle giant; a funny, caring and loving man who acted as a husband to Lori Redding, father to Jessica and Jillian, and grandparent to Maddie and Jakob Sauve who loved their Poppy and he loved them like his own. A mischievous smile always on his lips, a laugh in his throat; a kind word for every person he met, and described by all who knew him as "just a really good guy." Loved dearly and survived by Lori Redding, his faithful partner of 10 years; sisters, Diane Bigelow and her husband Mark Bigelow, Valeri Ingemi and husband Peter Ingem; numerous nephews, (and Taryn Bigelow), his step-children, his step grandchildren, all of Lori's family and Butters the cat. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St, Willimantic, CT, 06226. Viewing is from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and funeral service from at 7:00pm. There will also be a Memorial "Celebration" Service in Fitchburg, MA, time and date to be determined where Mark's 100s of friends will be able to celebrate his life and share stories of their time with him. He will be sorely missed and died too young. But we know he's home with Jesus, looking down and smiling at us all. We love you Mark.
