Mark A. Marrotte, 49, of Mansfield Depot, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2008 after a tragic accident. He was born in Willimantic October 17, 1958 to Rosabelle Marrotte of Columbia and the late Roderick Marrotte. For the last ten years he was employed by the University of Connecticut as the Building Service Manager for the Chemistry Department. He was respected and loved throughout the University community. Mark enjoyed playing the drums, hunting, fishing and spending time with his sons. He was an unconditionally caring person who was always there for friends and family to lend a helping hand, provide support or to celebrate. In addition to his mother he leaves his wife, best friend and soul mate, Dawn (Baker) Marrotte, his sons, of whom he was extremely proud, Private Kyle A. Marrotte, currently stationed at Ft. Drum, NY and Troy F. Marrotte of Mansfield Depot, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Theodora and Anthony Brown of Durham, NC, Jacquelyn and Peter Lindsay of Columbia, Pamela and Peter Metivier of Columbia, several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 46 North Eagleville Rd, Storrs. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mark A.
