Marjorie M. Marvel, 95, widow of Roy O. Marvel passed away on January 11th at Middlesex Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit in Middletown, CT. She was born in Willimantic, on May 27th, 1908, daughter of the late Willimantic Police Captain Frank McLean and Edna (Morse) McLean. She lived in Willimantic most of her life until 1969 when she and her husband retired to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In 1999 she moved back to Willimantic and since November of 2003 had resided at Cobalt Lodge Rest Home in Cobalt, CT. Marjorie is survived by two sons, Alan of Coventry, , and Kenneth of Chester, three daughters, Joan Brown of Coventry, Carol Higgins and her husband Richard of Portland, and Lynn Durand of Ft. Lauderdale FL., two daughters-in-law, Yolande Marvel of Chaplin, and Louise Marvel of Lebanon, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marjorie was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Elaine, sons, Arthur "Mickey" and Richard Marvel, her brother Clarence McLean, her sisters Phyllis Lavigne and Frances Brown. her daughter-in-law Virginia Marvel and son-in-law Allan Brown. There are no calling hours. Her funeral service will be held at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195) Willimantic on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Burial in the New Willimantic Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to Cobalt Lodge Recreation Fund, P.O. Box 246, Cobalt, CT 06414.
