Marion E. Greene, 92, long-time resident of North Windham, CT passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Mansfield Nursing and Rehab Center in Storrs, CT. Born to Elizabeth (Clarke) and Clifford Hoxie on November 8, 1927 in South Windham, CT. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 73 years, Robert Clifford Greene, Sr.; children, Robert C. Greene, Jr. and Lawrence E. Greene of Willimantic, CT and Donna Voss (Paul) of Boulder, CO; grandchildren Robert C. Greene III (Nicole) of Newington, CT, Marcia L. Forcier (Ryan) of Bristol, CT, Amy L. Greene of Bristol, CT, Danielle Da Silva (Jeremy) of Hermosa Beach, CA, Roxana Quain of Thornton, CO, Amber and Vanessa Jones of Willimantic, CT; great-grandchildren, Liam and Micah; sister, Dorothy Smith; brother, Clifford Hoxie; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son Darryl E. Greene; sisters, Barbara Noel and Sally Crosthwaite; and brother, Richard Hoxie.
Marion was a member of the First Congregational Church in Willimantic, CT since the age of 14. She was a former Sunday School teacher and sang in the senior choir. Marion was a former Den Mother of Cub Pack 34, and a former President of the North Windham Elementary School PTG. She worked as a postal clerk at the North Windham Post Office and was a counselor at Natchaug Hospital. At the age of 64, Marion received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Connecticut State College. Her funeral will be Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church 199 Valley St Willimantic, CT. Burial will follow at Windham Center Cemetery Rt 203.
