Marilyn Blake (Randall) Landry of South Windham, died on November 15th, 2013 at St. Joseph's Living Center in Windham, surrounded by friends. She was born on May 22, 1925 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, daughter to the late Major William Vincent and Natholia (Blake) Randall. On October 31, 1953 she was married to Arthur Edward Landry in Painted Post, New York. She was a graduate of Cedar Crest College and earned her Master's Degree in Education in 1949 from Connecticut State Teachers College. The following year she traveled to Hawaii and taught Physical Education and English at the University of Hawaii. She then returned to New England and taught English and Physical Education at Willimantic State Teachers College (now Eastern Connecticut State University) from 1951 to 1966. Mrs. Landry was extremely active in researching genealogy and was a member of the Connecticut Society of Mayflower Descendants and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by one grand-niece Marla Lauterette of Maitland, FL; three grand-nephews Randall Cooke and his wife Peggy, of Deltona, FL; Blake Cooke and his wife Sharon, of Roseville, CA; Christopher Cooke and his wife Apryl, of Maitland, FL; and two sisters-in-law Leonie Plante and her husband Lucien, of East Hartford and Marie Bontempo of Norwich. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur; sister Eunice Caldwell (Randall) Cooke Caruso; and nephew William Pendleton Cooke. The family would like to especially thank Bonnie Meunier, June Samuels, and Mickey DeSciscio for all the excellent care they provided and for being such great and compassionate friends for Marilyn. Services will be held Friday, November 22nd at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Visitation with family and friends will start at 10:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00.
