Marie Ann (Thompson) Strout, 74, of Lebanon CT died unexpectedly Tuesday May 15, 2012. She was born in South Paris, Maine May 7, 1938 the daughter of Lloyd and Annie Thompson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard Albert Strout, son Kevin and his wife Marie Michaud-Strout of Columbia, daughter Kerri and her husband Eric Foster of East Lyme, daughter Kathy and her husband Robert Rodriguez of Willimantic, daughter Karol and her husband Darryl Dupuis of Chaplin. A loving and caring grandmother, "Nonni" will be missed by her grandchildren; Brandon, Kurtis and Tiffany Strout; Jeffrey, Kevin, Kristen and Jamie Foster; Karyssa and Danyelle Rodriguez; Connor, Jonah, Kaysie and Jeremiah Dupuis; and her great-granddaughter, Samantha Chloe Strout. She is also survived by her three sisters, Janette Curtis and her husband William of Otisfield ME; Beverly Bailey of South Paris, ME, and Lorraine and Richard Kennagh of South Paris, ME and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie enjoyed many years of bowling with her husband in couples leagues. As a young mother, she volunteered time as a Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. In recent years, she enjoyed her weekly Bible study, and meeting friends and playing bingo at Foxwoods. She was also an exercise instructor at the Lebanon Senior Housing Complex. Affectionately known as "the Bag Lady", Marie spent many hours crocheting handbags from recycled plastic shopping bags. In the summer months, she loved her visits with her extended family from Maine. Her grandchildren knew whether it was a game or concert, they could look in the stands and see Nonni's smiling face. There will be no calling hours. A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on June 23rd between 3:00 and 5:00pm at Lebanon Fire Safety Complex, 23 Goshen Hill Rd., Lebanon, CT.
