Marie Storrs

Marie Storrs, 78, of Maple Rd., Storrs, wife of Francis W. Storrs, died Thursday Dec. 6, 2001 at the W.W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. She was born Nov. 16, 1923 in Czechoslovakia the daughter of Francis and Barbora (Jirikova) Vinicka. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for 19 years as an assistant cook at the Mansfield Middle School. She was a member of the Czechoslovakian Club in Willington and the Climax Chapter #98 OES in Merrow. Marie enjoyed cooking for her family and students and also enjoyed bird watching. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons; Francis J. Butch Storrs and his wife Carolyn of Mansfield Center and Michael S. Storrs and his wife Stacia of Mansfield, a sister Milada Loffelman of the Czech Republic and 5 grandchildren; Ann-Marie, Francis, Riskin, Katrina and Calista. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Storrs.
