Marie Modean

Marie (West) Modean, 77, of Storrs, widow of Frederick Modean, died Tuesday morning Dec. 13, 2005 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Manchester the daughter of Percy and Albertina Modean. Marie had retired from the Faculty Alumni Center, UConn Storrs campus. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Lougee and Donna Levine and her husband Bryan; a sister Doris Martel and her husband Raymond, a sister in law Lorraine West, 5 grandchildren, Michael Surber and his wife Heather, Brandi Burkowsky and her husband F.J. Burkowsky, Loren Guertin and her husband Thomas, Jennifer Lougee and Robert Lougee III, 6 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother James West. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 10:00am in East Cemetery, 240 East Center St., Manchester. There are no calling hours.
