Marie Theresa Knapp

Marie Theresa (Lamirande) Knapp, 82, of Storrs, formerly of Windham, died Wednesday Sept. 27, 2006 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of Eugene Knapp. She was born May 6, 1924 in Biddeford, Maine the daughter of Jean and Elizabeth (St.Pierre) Lamirande. Mrs. Knapp had been employed as an assistant cook at UConn prior to her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a member of the Mansfield Senior Center. She is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law, Gene and Marie Knapp of Maine and Mark and Kreeta Knapp of Willimantic; 2 daughters and sons in law, Monica and Kenneth French of Willimantic and Carolyn and Walter Dean of Willington; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday between 2:00 and 4:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 prior to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 100 Warren Circle, Storrs, CT. 06268.
