Marianne R. Mann

Marianne R. Mann, 74, of Mansfield Center, died Tuesday July 22, 2003 at Douglas Manor in Windham after a brief illness. She was born in Willimantic On July 19, 1929, the daughter of George and Sophie (Ulrich) Becker of the Mount Hope section of Mansfield. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Mann in 1989. Marianne worked in the mailroom of the University of Connecticut until her retirement in the late 1970?s. She is survived by her brother Emil Becker and his wife Jean of Tustin, CA, her sister Gretchen Pokorny and her husband John of Columbia, 3 nieces, Cathryn Pokorny of South Windsor, Peggy Thompson and Sally Razak of California, 2 nephews, John Pokorny Jr. of Willimantic and Michael Becker of Fairfield. Marianne was a loving, kindhearted person and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She also leaves behind her dearly loved pets, Spike and Becky. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Douglas Manor Resident Fund, 103 North Rd.
