Maria Zlotnick Tervidis

Maria Tervidis 81, of Scotland, passed away August 27, 2009. Maria was born on September 16, 1927 and made her home in Scotland for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward Tervidis of Scotland, CT, her daughter Paula Tervidis Macy of Windham, CT, her daughter and son-in-law Judy Tervidis Migliore & Joseph Migliore of Windsor Locks, CT and granddaughter Danika Migliore who attends Purdue University, IN; her daughter and son-in law Marie Tervidis Beck and John Beck and grandsons Ian and Addison Beck of Scotland, CT; sister-in-law Marcella Tervidis, brothers George Zlotnick, Walter Zlotnick and Alex Zlotnick and sister Vera Shashok. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Anastasia (Klinkowitz) Zlotnick and siblings Peter Zlotnick, Paul Zlotnick, Anna (Zlotnick) Clayton and Helen (Zlotnick) Fogil. After she raised three daughters, Maria began a career in hairdressing which she enjoyed for over 30 years. Her career brought her much pleasure as well as an opportunity to touch the lives of numerous people and to make many friends. She cherished all her nieces and nephews, and had a special way of making non-family members family. She will always be remembered by those she touched who called her Friend, Sister, Mom, Grammie, Aunt, Czi Czi, and Grammie T. Maria had a keen sense of humor, warm smile, tender heart, and love for nature. She was known for her warm hands, warm heart and special gift of giving love. Her family will receive friends on Monday August 31, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195) Willimantic. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday Sept. 1st at 10:30am with burial following in Scotland Cemetery (Rte. 97) Scotland.
