Maria A. Randazzo

Maria A. Randazzo, 82, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Columbia, widow of Giuseppe Randazzo, died Tuesday Jan. 29, 2013 at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota. She was born May 14, 1930 in Canicattini, Bagni, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph Mangifico and Josephine Aligata Mangifico. She is survived by her six children, Maria Lomonaco-Fasanella, Paul Randazzo, Manny Randazzo, Josephine Randazzo, Jerry Randazzo and Lucy Reale-Randazzo; five siblings, Sebastina Spina, Paulina Oglesdee, Maria Pensavalle, Lucia Caruso and Salvatore Mangifico, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by brother Sebastino Mangifico and a grandchild. Maria was a hard working woman. She owned a butcher shop in Sicily, Italy with her husband and also was a seamstress for many years until her retirement. She will be missed and always loved. Rest in peace. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Monday Feb. 4, 2013 between 9:30 and 10:30am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
