Maria Mateo, 65, of Willimantic, CT passed away on December 20, 2021. She was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Pedro Mateo and Yolanda Santiago. Maria had unconditional love for everyone she met. She was a feisty and strong woman. Her children and grandchildren were her everything. Maria loved to cook and feed her family. She also enjoyed music and parties.
Maria is survived by her significant other, James Myers; children, Mariceli Livsley, Juan Carlos Diaz and his significant other, Robin Ritz, Joey Mateo and his fiancé, Julissa Shepaum, Sasha Mateo, and Yaitza Maldonaldo; brothers, Aristides, Sammy, Samuel, and Juan Mateo; sisters, Ana Cubi, Nilsa Ortiz, and Virgen Mateo; grandchildren, Kenneth and Dylan Livsley, Vianca and Xavier Diaz, Kailani Theriault, Anaya Diaz, Jayla Mateo, Jaycee Diaz, DasiaLee Barney, Joey Mateo, Charlotte Barney, and Ana Caliz Ritz; great grandchildren, Cora Rose and Loyalty Livsley. She was predeceased by her brothers Jose and Buenaventura Mateo, Israel Santiago, and Luis and Jose Mateo.
