Maria J Castro

Maria Jesus Castro, 94, of 466 Ash St. Willimantic, widow of Julian Orihuela, died Sunday evening Sept. 15, 2002 at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1907 in Peru where she resided until moving to the United States 10 years ago to be with her family. She is survived by her daughter Gricelda Verastegui and her husband Leoncio, 5 grandchildren; Victor Verastegui , Carmen Batchelder and her husband Dave of Vernon, Chela Verastegui and her husband David, Johnny Verastegui and Sylvia Verastegui, and 6 great grandchildren; Monica Keppene of Maryland, Jaime Hernandez, Michelle and Stacey Batchelder of Vernon, Timothy Grylls II, Geancarlo and Giulietta Romero of Columbia and Gladys Centeno of Peru. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am in the New Willimantic Cemetery (intersection of Rte 6 and Rte 32), Willimantic. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic TODAY from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
