Margaret O. Tessman, 87, of Windham Center, died Wednesday February 12, 2003 at Hartford Hospital. She was born January 24, 1916 in Westfield, CT daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Malzan) Tessman and had lived for many years in New Britain and Southington before moving to Windham 15 years ago. She had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Britain, First Lutheran Church in Southington and Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Willimantic. Prior to her retirement she was employed for over 30 years at the Stanley Works in New Britain. She is survived by a brother, Oscar M. Tessman of Hartland, Maine, formerly of Southington, 2 nieces, Sharon Tessman Sekellick of Canton, Virginia Benning of Windham Center, a nephew, Michael J. Tessman of North Hampton, MA, 2 great nieces, Melany Benning Fontaine of Hampton and Dawn Benning of Windham Center. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 96 Oak St. Willimantic. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Britain at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 96 Oak St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
