Margaret Ann Standish

Margaret Ann (Bemont) Standish, 63, of Andover, passed from us on Jan. 22, 2006 to join her parents whom she missed very much. She was born on April 27, 1942 the daughter of Allen and Nina (Scott) Bemont. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She had generously opened her heart to many people, especially her grandchildren. She raced four wheel drive vehicles for years and had many trophies to show for her efforts. She took great pride in her ability to compete in what was then and still is a male dominated sport. She had an active interest in genealogy, arts and crafts. She will be GREATLY missed. She is survived by her husband of 45 years Leslie Myles Standish, her eldest son Leslie James Standish and his three boys James, Jonathon and Jeremy; her daughter Mary Smith and her husband Craig and their son Michael; her son Edward Myles Standish and his wife Genevieve and their three children Heather, Bryan and Katherine. She also leaves behind two brothers Leroy and Leonard Bemont, a sister Barbara Fitts and their children. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. A Memorial Service will be announced in the spring.
