Margaret A. Hoffman, 90, of Hampton, wife of the late Donald Hoffman, died Monday, July 7, 2014 at her home in the same room in which she was born. She was born April 7, 1924, the daughter of Reuben and Gertrude (Brenn) Pearl and was a lifelong resident of Hampton. She was an active member of the Hampton Congregational Church, serving in many capacities including the choir, as a deaconess and secretary and member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was a lifetime member of the Little river Grange. Margaret was secretary to the guidance counselor of Parish Hill High School when it opened and retired as secretary to the superintendent. She is survived by four children, William E. Hoffman and his wife Jane of Hampton, Diane Becker and her husband William, also of Hampton, Nancy Burnham and her husband Herbert of Canterbury and Robert Hoffman of Sangerville, ME, a brother-in-law Roger Hoffman and his wife Jeannette of Hamilton, NY, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a dear friend, Jo freeman. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Francis Stone. Her funeral services will be Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Hampton Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the North Cemetery, Hampton. There are no calling hours.
