Margaret` Regen Gant

Margaret Regen Gant - on December 6, 2001, age 81. wife of the late Edward V. Gant, Sr., she is survived by her son, David R. Gant of Hartford; her daughter, Susan Wowk Beers of West Hartford and husband John Beers, their children, Tymofey, Kateryna, Yon, John Jr., and Theodore; and a great-grandson, Raymond. She was predeceased by her son, Tory, and grandson, Mikhailo. Daughter of the late James Burr Regen Sr., and Myrtle Jones Regen of Nashville, TN, she is also survived by her sister, Lorraine R. Thornton of Brownsville, TN, her sister-in-law, Sara Regen of Nashville, TN, several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, James Burr Regen, Jr., and her sister Elizabeth R. Newell. When she and Ed came to Storrs in 1942, they originally settled at Four Corners, then moved to Eastwood Road in 1954. Over the years she served in many organizations including The University League, The American Red Cross, VISTA, The Storrs Senior Center and the Storrs Congregational Church where she was a founding member of the Bell Choir and a long time member. She leaves behind many friends. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 11, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. A memorial service will be held December 27 at 10 a.m. at the Storrs Congregational Church in Storrs. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Connecticut Foundation Inc., 2390 Alumni Drive, Unit 3206, Storrs, CT 06269-3206 for the Edward V. Gant Scholarship Fund.
