Margaret McCarrick Obituary
Margaret Boyd McCarrick, of Mansfield, wife of the late John J. McCarrick, died at home, Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born in Manchester, CT on October 27, 1930, the daughter of the late Dr. Howard and Janet (Mandell) Boyd. Margaret lived in Bolton, CT with her husband and children for 29 years before moving to Storrs/Mansfield in 1987. She attended Saint Lawrence University and graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1952. She received her master’s in education from Hillyer College/University of Hartford. She was a teacher in Manchester and Bolton for 28 years before retiring from the Manchester School System. She was an avid golfer for many years belonging to Tallwood Women’s Club in Hebron. Upon moving to Storrs/Mansfield, she became a volunteer at the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History with her husband, until his illness prevented her from continuing as a volunteer. After joining the UConn League, she played golf and bridge with the many friends she made in the area.
She was predeceased by her sons John and Peter, and her three sisters Betty, Donna, and Janet. She leaves several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
