Malcolm David Burdick

April 27, 1916 — February 4, 2003

Malcolm D. Burdick, 86, longtime resident of Hampton, husband of Grace (Rogers) Burdick, died Tuesday February 4, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born April 27, 1916 in Ellington, the son of the late Asa and Cora (Russ) Burdick and had lived in Hampton since 1923. He was a U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant in the European Theatre. After the war he owned and operated a radio sales and repair business. Mr. Burdick was employed for 23 years at the Windham Regional Technical School retiring as Senior Department Head of Electronics. Following retirement he enjoyed collecting and restoring antique radios. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Richard Cwirka of Columbia, a son, David Burdick of Plainfield, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Malcolm Burdick and a daughter, Janet Rogers Burdick. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will follow in Russ Cemetery, Chaplin. There are no calling hours.
