Magdaline V. Balazs, 83, of Orange Vermont, formerly of Ashford and Willington, Connecticut passed away peacefully on May 20 at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin, Vermont. Born August 17, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y. she grew up on the family farm in Ashford, Connecticut. She married Joseph A. Vostinak on April 30, 1942. After his death she married Albert J. Balazs on February 18, 1984. "Madge" attended Windham High School in Willimantic and Morse Business College in Hartford and worked in New York City and Waterbury, Connecticut. Madge raised her family in Ashford, Ct. with husband Joe and then resumed her working career at the University of Connecticut, retiring in 1985 from her position as Legal Secretary to the Assistant Attorney General Of UCONN. Madge is remembered as a wonderful mother and family member having shown love and concern for all her extended family and friends. She was bright, energetic and enjoyed spending her remaining years on her daughter's farm in Vermont. She is survived by her brothers: Henry, Edward and Robert Krapf and sister Geraldine Jones; sons Eugene P. Vostinak and James A. Vostinak; daughters Eileen E. Wheeler and JoAnne Vostinak; grandchildren Cynthia L. Miller, Christine Schmitt, Derek J. Vostinak, Emily R. Wheeler, Veronica J. Wheeler and Shay-anne Vostinak; great-grandchildren Kaycee Miller and Cameron Schmitt; adult stepchildren John and Lynn Balazs. She was pre-deceased by her first husband Joseph A Vostinak, second husband Albert J. Balazs and brother Joseph A. Krapf Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00pm with her funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will be private in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford.
