Madeline Monroe Obituary
Madeline Healy “Maggie” Monroe, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama. She was born and raised in Willimantic, Connecticut and lived in Lebanon, Connecticut until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Irene Healy and her son Richard Monroe.
Maggie is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Byron W. Monroe of Dauphin Island, Alabama and her daughter Donna and son-in-law Jim Compton of Glen Allen, Virginia. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Jessica, James and Patrick (Molly) Compton.
Maggie worked for and retired from Rogers Corporation in Windham, Connecticut. She enjoyed her many retired years on Dauphin Island and loved all her travels with Byron. She is survived by countless wonderful friends she made during her long life.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Ascension Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama from 5:00-7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Willimantic, Connecticut. A reception will follow at The American Legion 339 Bricktop Road Windham.
