Mabel Josephine (Reagan) Usher, 94, of Willington, died Wednesday Nov. 13, 2002 at the Evergreen Healthcare Center in Stafford. She was born April 20, 1908 in Taunton, MA. , the daughter of the late Mortimer and Mabel (Gallagher) Reagan. Mabel married Merritt Munroe Usher on Aug. 22, 1936 in Fall River, MA. They spent their entire married life in their River Road home in W. Willington. He died April 27, 1993. Mabel graduated from B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River and from the Hyannis State Teacher's College in 1930 and began her teaching career the same year in Columbia. With time out to raise two daughters, she retired in 1972 after 35 years, with the last 27 years spent teaching 5th grade at Hall Memorial School in S. Willington. Mabel was a communicant of St. Jude Church, Willington. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons in law; Katherine and Tracy Henderson of Pittsburgh, PA. and Joan and Francis Nolan of Convent Station, N.J., 3 granddaughters; Ellen Henderson of Pittsburgh, Rianne Nolan of San Francisco, CA., and Courtney Nolan of Edison, N.J., 2 grandsons; Christopher Nolan of Lausanne, Switzerland and Goeffrey Henderson of San Francisco and a step grandson Rev. Michael Nolan of El Dorado, KS. She was predeceased by a grandson Matthew Henderson and 2 sisters Katherine Siegfried and Dorothy Mansfield. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Jude Church, Old Farms Rd., Willington, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in the Willington Hill Cemetery.
