Lynn Marie Engel

Lynn Marie Engel, 46, of Columbia, wife of Jim Engel died suddenly on Friday afternoon. She was born June 19, 1963 in Willimantic, the daughter of Russell and Pamela (Casey) Kearns. She was an unbelievably dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a paraprofessional at Horace W. Porter School in Columbia for many years where she inspired many students and coworkers. Her constant patience, positive attitude and smile could literally light up a room. She spent her life helping others in every aspect. In addition to her husband she leaves behind her two loving daughters, Shaina and Chelsea, both her parents, sister Cheryl Cote, sister Kim Ridzon, brother James Kearns, and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. She also leaves a very special student, Claudia. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at 8:00 am at St. Columba Church in Columbia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn's name may be made to the Special Olympics or American Cancer Society. The Potter Funeral Home, Willimantic assisted with arrangements.
