Lynda Leonardi Obituary
Lynda M. Leonardi, 79, of Windham, CT passed away surrounded by her family on March 25, 2023. She was born in North Adams, MA, the daughter of the late Russell and Helen (Pierce) Moon.
Lynda loved her family and was a true lady. She loved to knit, crochet and sew. Lynda enjoyed many Leonardi family camping trips with all the grands and great grandchildren. She enjoyed doing her genealogy and gardening. She was rarely seen without a book in her hand. Her favorites were science fantasy and mysteries. Lynda loved going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. She was a world traveler having been to England, Ireland, Canada, Mexico and Italy. Lynda worked at Mansfield Training School for over 30 years.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband Alfred J. Leonardi, brother Richard Moon and his wife Marlene; children, Deborah Garafano and her husband, Scott, Toni Greci and her husband Dennis, Mary Leonardi and Terry Brennan, and Jill Ann Leonardi; eight grandchildren, Wayne, Jessica, Heather, Chrystal, Grace, Russell, Duncan and Malcom, and at last count twelve great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Judy.
Lynda’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 10:00am until her funeral service at 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Her burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Columbia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to WAIM.
