Lyle Albert Bentely, 88, of North Windham, passed peacefully on the evening of November 20, 2025 surrounded by family.
He was born January 10,1937 in Colchester, VT, the son of the late Byron and Ione (Wood) Bentley. He grew up in Jericho, VT on a dairy farm with his brother and sisters. The stories of his childhood will continue on with his children and grandchildren for years to come.
Lyle was drafted into the Army and served from 1959-1961. He spent time overseas in Germany and was honorably discharged. He married Patricia (LaLiberte) Bentely on August 4, 1962.
Lyle had a love for the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. Spending time, hunting fishing and making maple syrup as well as attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He traveled with his family across country in their family vacation green station wagon. He was a lifetime member of Windham Fish & Game Club and Fin Fern and Feather.
He worked as a foreman at Pratt & Whitney for thirty plus years where he retired.
Lyle leaves behind his beloved wife Patricia; sons, Blake (daughter in law Jennifer), Jason and grandchildren Breeanna, Tyler and Sean, sister Eva Dial and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Julie, brother Adelbert, and a sister May Dlugonski. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
