Lucille Miner

Lucille (Badger) Miner, 86, of Willimantic, wife of the late Alton E. Miner, passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 30, 2009. Born in Willimantic on April 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Olen and Rosedelima (Cartier) Badger and stepdaughter of the late Sophie (Kuchta) Badger. Her survivors include her son Curtin B. Miner and partner Maryann Smith of Willimantic; granddaughters Andria K. Miner and her husband Alan Lippert of Austin, TX and Jessica L. Miner and partner Carmel Drewes of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren Juliann and Garin; and sister Eleanor Bok and her husband Carl of Jacksonville, FL. After retiring from University of Connecticut, Lucille enjoyed being outside working in her yard and garden. She was an avid reader and spent countless hours reading the many books she had acquired. Her family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, on Friday Sept. 4th between 10:00 and 11:00am with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. Memorial donations in Lucille's name are suggested to Willimantic Fire Dept. Local 1033, c/o Willimantic Fire Dept., P.O.
