Louise T. Thompson, 99, formerly of Columbia and Willimantic, died Wednesday April 9, 2003 in Colchester. She was born Dec. 1, 1903 in Willimantic the daughter of Lester and Lottie (Eaton) Thompson. She was a graduate of the Natchaug School and Windham High School and had resided in Columbia for 50 years. During World War II she was an aircraft patrol spotter. She was retired from the State of Connecticut after 41 years of service, working 34 years for State Welfare Dept. and 7 years at the Motor Vehicle Dept. in Willimantic. Miss Thompson also drove school bus in Columbia and had also worked for the American Thread Co. and the Travelers Insurance Co. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by 5 nephews; Lester Thompson III of Columbia, Russell Thompson of Columbia, Peter Thompson of Hampton, Jack Thompson Jr. of Ohio and David Johnson of N.J., 2 nieces; Dayna Osborne of Missouri and Susan Brown of VT. and many great nieces and great nephews. Her funeral service will be held on April 19, 2003 at 2:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic . Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Beckish Senior Center, 188 Rte 66, Columbia, Ct. 06237.
